WEDNESDAY NIGHT ALIVE – “The Most Dangerous Book in the World”, a progressive bible study on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00, September 11-October 30.   Did you ever wonder how the Bible came to be? Who decided what books would be in it? Who even wrote all those books? And why it is so dangerous? If these questions spark your curiosity then you should join us for Wednesday Night Alive. You will need a New Revised Standard Version Bible. 

YOGA meets every Tuesday at 4:00, Thursday at 6:00, and Friday, at 10:00, in fellowship hall. The cost for the Tuesday and Thursday class is $5, because it is instructor-led.

REVELATIONS is coming up! Save the date for Sunday, September 29, at 6:00, in fellowship hall. If these questions spark your curiosity then you should join us for Wednesday Night Alive. You will need a New Revised Standard Version Bible.  Handouts and supplemental materials will be provided at each session. Join us to learn more about the most dangerous book in the world—The Bible.

HEAD-TO-TOE HYGIENE PANTRY workday is Thursday, September 19, from 9-11am, at 2130 E. 21st St. N. The Pantry is open on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. The pantry is in need of your used plastic grocery sacks.  Please bring them to the church and place them in the bins in fellowship hall.

MENS’ LUNCH is Thursday, September 19, at 11:30, at Scotch & Sirloin. The guest speaker is Derrick Grubbs, Vice President of Game Operations, Wichita Baseball. His presentation is about “The Story of Wichita Baseball 2020.”

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED  to clean a Habitat for Humanity house on Friday, September 6, from 9:30 to 11:30! The house is located at 1307 N. Estelle (a block north of the last house we did).  We will be cleaning windows, cabinets, appliances, floors, bathrooms, ceiling fans etc., in this new three bedroom house.  Contact Cyndi Richter at ccrichter@cox.net or 461-4148, if you would like to help or sign up on the PIC board in fellowship hall.  The more the merrier!!!

You will receive a copy of the reorganization plan prior to that meeting. Please take time to read it and note questions you may have.

LARKSFIELD DISCUSSION GROUP meets on July 24, at 10:00 a.m., in the club room.  We will begin a new book this week

UCC DAY AT THE ZOO – join us on Saturday, July 27, at 10:00am, at the Sedgwick County Zoo.  Admission is only $10.00 for adults or $5.00 for children 3-11 years old.  Sign up on the PIC board if interested.

YOGA meets every Tuesday at 4:00, Thursday at 6:00, and Friday, at 10:00, in fellowship hall. The cost for the Tuesday and Thursday class is $5 because it is instructor led.

UCC – WE MADE OUR GAMMON GOAL – Today we celebrate meeting our $5,000 goal for our neighborhood school Gammon Elementary. We are grateful to the dozens of members and friends who helped us meet this valuable goal. Thanks to all of you, Gammon students and teachers will have the supplies they need to create good student learning. – from the Outreach Board

FILLING THE GAP – UCC Outreach Board and Temple Emanuel will provide volunteers to serve lunch to underprivileged children. From July 29 thru Aug.9, Noon to 1:00 we will need help at the Urban League. It is a prepared cold lunch which they can take home or eat there. If you can help one or more days, please sign up in fellowship hall on the PIC board.

We also need some children’s books. It would be a good time to go through your books and see if you have some your children or grandchildren have outgrown. Just bring them to church. The Outreach Board
