CHILI FEED FUNDRAISER to benefit the Head-to-Toe Hygiene Pantry on Sunday, November 6, at 11:30 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. Join us for a delicious chili lunch, plus sample and vote for chili made by our church members who will compete for UCC Chili Royalty. Lunch includes chili, corn muffins, dessert, and beverages. If you would like to join the competition please fill out a card and put it in the bowl in Fellowship Hall. Then bring your chili in a crockpot on November 6th.

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE Sunday, November 6, University Congregational Church will celebrate a Service of Remembrance during worship. Please bring your mementos (pictures, keepsakes, etc.) of your loved ones that you wish to remember to be placed on and around the communion table. You may bring your items anytime next week during office hours (9-3), or simply bring them with you to worship on the 6th. Paul will explain further during this Sunday’s Christian Life moment.

ALTERNATIVE GIFT MARKET – Saturday, November 12, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at East Heights UMC, 4407 E Douglas.  The Market is a unique opportunity to “buy” a gift in honor of a family member/friend. At the same time, your gift is helping to alleviate poverty, hunger, injustice around the world. Over 30 projects will be represented and, no doubt, one of them will be
special for your support.  If you can help volunteer in the Gift Market booth, please see or call Jane Phares – 866-6336.

UCC CHRISTMAS PARTY Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 10, at 6:00 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. It will be a festive evening of food, music, and Christmas cheer. Students from the UCC choir will entertain us. The Deacons will supply the meat, sides, bread & drinks. Appetizers are requested from those with last names beginning with A-M, and N-Z please bring a dessert. Crayons and coloring book donations are requested for the Hygiene Pantry.

onesies, socks and toys are requested. Please place items in the baby box in Fellowship Hall.

He’s been married to Tonya Lininger Dahl for more than 40 years, and is a supportive father of twin sons. Dave’s served as a volunteer and leader with countless Sedgwick County organizations that make this a better, stronger, and more just community.

welcome to help as we have jobs for everyone (no need to know how to sew). So bring your lunch and join us downstairs in the Guild room!

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS this afternoon, Sunday, October 9, at 4:00 p.m. in the south parking lot of UCC. Everyone is welcome. There will be a short service and a blessing of each animal.

RAFFLE TICKETS ON SALE through today in Fellowship Hall, ten tickets for $10 and 25 for $20. Baskets donated for the raffle are on display. Tickets are available through October 9. The drawing will be held at Cooks’ Night Out on October 13. Winners need not be present to win. Proceeds to benefit Women’s Guild projects. Tickets for Cooks’ Night Out are also available for $15 each. Today is the last day to purchase raffle tickets and tickets for Cooks’ Night Out.

Col. Brenda Dietzman will be talking about the Sheriff’s Office and a variety of their
responsibilities. She will also tell some personal stories to show the human and sometimes funnier side of law enforcement. This is an interesting time in regards to law enforcement and community relations; she looks forward to your questions and ideas so please come prepared.

CHILDREN’S MUSIC CLASSES have begun. They are taught the 1st & 3rd
Sundays at 11:00 a.m. by choir members Mike Mays and Baylee Kampfe. They will be learning songs for the Children’s Christmas Tableau and other fun songs.
