UCC CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, May 25, in
observance of Memorial Day.

 

FEMININE FACES OF GOD class begins this Monday, May 18 at 1:00, in the basement conference room. Robin will be leading this class and it is open to anyone who is interested.

 

LARKSFIELD TEA is this Wednesday, at 10:00a.m. It is open to anyone that is interested in joining us. This is an informal gathering with Robin, Paul, and Heidi to talk about what is going on in the church and with the congregation.  We also welcome your feedback and concerns.

 

NEXT SUNDAY

 

COMMUNION will be served.

 

THE LITTLE LIBRARY has been stocked with books and ready to be used by those in our neighborhood. This is intended to be an outreach from our church to the community.

 

SECOND ANNUAL SUMMER ARTS CAMP will be held Monday and Wednesday, June 8 & 10. Classes include needlework, collage, quilting and a course on how to use Pinterest. There are also arts classes available for the kids! Join us each night at 5:30 PM for a light supper with the classes following from 6-7. There are sign-up sheets in Fellowship Hall.

 

ICE CREAM SOCIAL/PICNIC will be held Friday, June 12th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  The event, sponsored by the C. E. Board and the Board of Deacons, is the culminating activity of the Arts Camp to be held June 8th and 10th.  The menu includes, barbequed hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, potato salad, baked beans, and, of course, ice cream and toppings. There will also be games and prizes so you are sure to have a great time!  This church event is for the whole family.  We encourage you to bring children and grandchildren.  Feel free to invite guests.  It is imperative that you sign up on the PIC Board or by calling Heidi in the office.  Please indicate the number in your party.  The deadline for sign –up is Sunday June 5th.  The planners need a count in order to purchase the right amount of food and ice-cream.  Thanks for your support of this popular event!

WANT A CD of a worship service?  Please sign up on the CD form on the information board in Fellowship Hall. You may pick-up your CD in the library.   $2 per CD may be put in the “Deposit Box” in the library.

COOKS NIGHT OUT is this Thursday May 21, at 6:00pm. Wayne Bryan, Producing Artistic Director of Music Theatre Wichita will be the speaker.  The event will begin at 6 pm for social time and the buffet at 6:30.  The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-10. Please plan to join us on the 21st.  Registration sheets are located on the PIC board in Fellowship Hall.

Universe”, by Brian Swimme on Wednesday night at 5:45 p.m., with a DVD lecture and discussion. Keith Williamson is leading this six-week class.  A light dinner will be available for a free will offering.

 

MEN’S GROUP LUNCH is Thursday, May 21, at 11:30 at the Lakeside Club located behind Walgreens at 21st and Webb.  Thursday’s guest speaker will be Ed Flentje.

passion for arts and crafts? Have you always wanted to share this with others? Then sign up to teach a class for our Second Annual Summer Arts Camp to be held Monday and Wednesday, June 8 and 10. The Camp will culminate with our All Church Ice Cream Social on Friday, June 12th. WOW CLASS “Powers of the Universe”, by Brian Swimme is Wednesday nights at 5:45 p.m., with a DVD lecture and discussion. This is a survey of the 13 billion years of the history of the universe, identifying the deeper forces and patterns that have shaped it. Also discussed is how these forces have shaped human beings. Keith Williamson is leading this six-week class.  A light dinner will be available for a free will offering.

THE FLOWERS ON THE COMMUNION TABLE TODAY are provided by Jan Deering in honor and recognition of Maxine Morrison’s 20 years of volunteer service to the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Wesley Medical Center.

 

UCC 101, NEW MEMBER CLASS, is today immediately following the worship service in the downstairs conference room.  If you are interested in joining UCC, this is a great way to learn more about how the church is structured and a chance for you to ask questions.  A light lunch will be served.

COUNCIL MEETING & DINNER is Monday at 5:30pm in Fellowship Hall.

ST. MARYS MEDITERRANEAN FESTIVAL is Saturday, May 9, at 5:00pm. If you would like to learn about the Orthodox Christian faith and how they view and worship God plus enjoy some great Serbian and Lebanese food. Vespers are at 5:00, followed by a sanctuary tour, then dinner. The Deacons will provide rides for those unable to transport themselves. Signup sheets are on the PIC board in Fellowship Hall.

 

NEXT SUNDAY

 

MOTHER’S DAY is next Sunday and all Mother’s will be honored with a carnation at next week’s service.  Bring your mother and honor her on this day.
