Sermon title: “The Heart of Christianity: Transforming the Heart”

We welcome all of our visitors today and invite you to the Fellowship Hall for beverages and cookies after the service. Please follow the congregation to the left out of the sanctuary.

TODAY

THE FLOWERS ON THE COMMUNION TABLE TODAY are provided by Lavinia and Romy Gerould in honor of our wonderful choir.

UCC ANGEL TREE: Beginning today, please stop by our Angel Tree in fellowship hall to select a person in need you would like to help this Christmas season. This year, our “angels” are people with intellectual disabilities served by Starkey, a nonprofit agency, that enables clients to live and work in the community. Starkey identifies “angels” who have very low incomes, and limited or no family engagement. These clients would otherwise have no gifts under their Christmas tree. Angel tags name several things on their gift lists. You are asked to purchase at least three items on the list, the majority of which are modest in cost. Your gifts should be wrapped, placed in a single bag with the original tag, and returned to the parlor no later than Sunday,
December 4.

IT’S POINSETTIA TIME! – If you would like to contribute to the Christmas floral display, please send a check for $13.50 to the church, payable to UCC by December 6, or you may put it in the offering plate today. STARKEY ANGEL TREE – Watch for our Angel Tree Next Sunday in
Fellowship Hall! Your first chance to select your “angel” for Christmas gift giving will be on November 13. This year, recipients will be persons with intellectual disabilities who are served by Starkey, a 75-year old community agency whose mission is to enable more than 500 persons to live and work in the community. Starkey identifies “angels” with very low incomes, and limited or no family engagement, and who would otherwise have no gifts under their Christmas tree. UCC has committed to bringing a joyful Christmas to 50 such persons from Starkey.  This project is guaranteed to engage our hearts in the spirit of this Christmas season.  Please stop by our table in Fellowship Hall any Sunday in November for your assignment and instructions.  If you have questions or want to volunteer to help, call Marla Flentje at 250-1344.
