JESUS SEMINAR ON THE ROAD: Re-imagining Jesus and Women with Westar scholars Sarah Morice Brubaker and Deborah Niederer Saxon, at Plymouth Congregational Church, April 5-6, 2019.  For centuries the Christian church insisted that its leaders be male. Yet, recent scholarship has uncovered a very different story about women and Christian origins. This seminar examines the leading role of women in the rise of Christianity and the formation of several Christian beliefs. Register online at: westarinstitute.org/events.  The cost is $75 for all three sessions.

PALM SUNDAY SERVICE is on Sunday, April 14, at 10:30am.  Join us as we celebrate Palm Sunday, featuring our children’s choir.

GOOD FRIDAY TENEBRAE SERVICE is on Friday, April 19 at 7:00pm, in the sanctuary. During this service, the increasing darkness by extinguishing of candles symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus’ death and of hopelessness in the world without God. Everyone is invited to attend this service.

EASTER SUNDAY – There will be one extended service from 10:30-noon on Easter morning with communion.  This service will feature music from F. J. Haydn, “Lord Nelson Mass”.  There will be an Easter egg hunt for all children to be held immediately following the worship service at noon, on the south side courtyard lawn.  There will be no Easter sunrise service.

EVERY CHURCH/OUR CHURCH – Every church gains and loses members, but UCC has a unique perspective in this challenge.  Our membership is not large, and our members average well over 50 years of age. This fact requires us to be proactive in our new member recruitment.
