TODAY

THE FLOWERS ON THE COMMUNION TABLE TODAY are provided by
Pat Snyder in memory of her husband, Jim.

THIS WEEK

HEAD-TO-TOE HYGIENE PANTRY workday is this Thursday, April 18, from 9:00-11:00am, at 2130 E. 21st St. N. The Pantry is open on Saturday, April 20, from 9:00-11:30am.

MEN’S LUNCHEON is on Thursday, April 18, at 11:30, in fellowship hall. Thanks to Tim Duncan, the UCC Men’s luncheon group has secured Chief Gordon Ramsay, Wichita Police Department, as its monthly speaker. The reaction to his acceptance is such that the men have decided to open the meeting to women members and guests, who would enjoy hearing the Chief.
The luncheon will be at 11:30, here at the church. Everyone in the church is invited and attendees may bring a guest. There is no charge for the luncheon but free will contributions will be appreciated. To make this work, please sign up for the event on the PIC board located in fellowship hall and indicate the number of guests you are bringing.

GOOD FRIDAY TENEBRAE SERVICE is on Friday, April 19 at 7:00pm, in the sanctuary. During this service, the increasing darkness by extinguishing of candles symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus’ death and of hopelessness in the world without God. Everyone is invited to attend this service.   YOGA meets every Tuesday at 4:00 and Friday, at 10:00, in fellowship hall. The cost for the Tuesday class is $5 because it is instructor led.
NEXT WEEK

EASTER SUNDAY – There will be one extended service from 10:30-noon on Easter morning with communion.  This service will feature music from F. J. Haydn, “Lord Nelson Mass”.  There will be an Easter egg hunt for all children to be held immediately following the worship service at noon, on the south side courtyard lawn.  There will be no Easter sunrise service.
LARKSFIELD DISCUSSION GROUP meets on April 24, at 10:00 a.m., in the club room at Larksfield Place, 7373 E. 29th St. N.

POLO AND T-SHIRT ORDERS – Order your new UCC polo shirts and t-shirts through the end of April. Choose from three colors: turquoise, hibiscus, and light stone.  Order online at www.ucchurch.org – just click on the polo/t-shirt banner at the top of the page and it will direct you to the page to place your order. You may also place an order on the computer provided in fellowship hall on Sundays through April 30.

COOK’S NIGHT OUT – The Women’s Guild will hold a Cook’s Night Out on Thursday, May 16th at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Our entertainment will be Wayne Bryan sharing snippets of the various plays which will be performed by Music Theatre of Wichita this summer.  This is always a wonderful upbeat program so hope you can join us.  The cost of tickets is $15 and they will be sold in Fellowship Hall following our worship service starting on April 28th.  Please sign up early so we can plan the food for the evening.

CHURCH GROWTH – There are many benefits of being a member of a small church; the chance to know a lot of the members, the chance to be involved and a part of something special, and the ability to get in and out of the parking lot quickly (just
kidding). The truth is, the benefits are many!  But another truth is that is behooves each member to be an active participant in our church. We encourage you to find something to be a part of.
